Thomas Hoxworth's Story.
Thomas Boote was the son of Mr. J. H. Boote of 40, Ellesmere Street, Runcorn. Prior to the war he worked at the Castner Kellner Works at Weston Point. He was one of two brothers who went to France at the same time and was a pre-war territorial. He was mobilised in August 1914 and was drafted to France 14 February 1915. In June 1915 he was severely wounded, being shot through the neck and after a long period in hospital he was sent to a convalescent home in Kent, where he remained for over twelve months. He returned to the North-West and died after an operation at the Royal Southern Hospital, Liverpool.
