Charles's Story.
Charles Stevenson was killed by a sniper on 15th February 1916, with his death recorded as 16th. He was 23 years old.
Charles Stevenson was born in 1892 in Wallasey, Cheshire, to Jane Elizabeth Warrington ( - 1936) and John Stevenson ( - ). He was baptised on 10th April that year. The 1911 census shows him living with his parents at 16 Granville Terrace, Wallasey, Cheshire, his occupation farm labourer.
His younger brother George was to die in the Battle of Jutland just a few months later, on 31st May 1916. He was 18 years old. The two brothers are remembered on their parents' grave in Wallasey.
