Harry's Story.
Private H. Barker.
Mr and Mrs Edwin Barker, Wood Lane Bradwall, received information on Friday that their son, private Harry Barker, Lancashire Regiment, was killed in action on the 24th of January. The chaplain wrote saying private Barker only lived an hour after being wounded. One of the officers writing to Mr and Mrs Barker said private Barker had seen much fighting. He was a very good soldier and true to duty and by his death England had lost a true patriot, private Barker was 23 years of age and had been on active service just six months. He formerly worked for the Electro Bleach and By-Products company at Middlewich
