Killed After Nine Months.
CHESHIRE SERGEANT’S DEATH.
Official intimation of the death of Sergt. Harry Ambrose Sparrow, of the 1st Cheshire Regt., has been received by the mother, who resides at 102, Oliver Street, Birkenhead. Sergt. Sparrow was a reservist having served eight years, and on the outbreak of war he was called up and left for the front in August 1914. He took part in all the major engagements, and was allowed home in March for a short leave. He had only been in the firing line a few weeks when he was killed on May 25th.
He leaves a wife and a little son, who reside in Kensington Street, Belfast. Deceased has a younger brother, Pte Albert Sparrow, who is a member of the machine gun section of the 1st Cheshires at present serving in France.
