Arthur's Story.
Arthur Haddock was 23 years old , the son of Captain Walter and Catherine Haddock (nee parks) of 35 South Bank Terrace, Runcorn, Cheshire. Prior to going to sea he had been working with his father on a lightship. At the time of his death, his brothers Seaman Bertie Haddock was serving on a transport and William Haddock served as a telephonist in the Navy.Until the time he went to sea he was a regular scholar at Brunswick school and attended St Pauls Church.
His ship, SS Exchange, was torpedoed by the Germans and there were no survivors.
He died on the same ship as Cpt Charles Edwards and Able Seaman S N Bennett
