Walter Hopton's Story.
W. H. Phelps
Mr. and Mrs. Phelps, of the Crofts, Nantwich, and formerly of Reaseheath have been notified by the War Office that as no further news has been received of their eldest son, Private Walter Hopton Phelps, London Regiment who has been missing since 7 October 1916, it is presumed that he was killed on or since that date.
There are two other brothers serving, Private Horace Phelps, who is in France and Sergeant Harold Phelps of the Flying Corps, who is in this country.
Nantwich Guardian, Friday, September 7, 1917.
