John William's Story.

Born Northampton, enlisted Liverpool. Son of Harry John and Mary Ann Negus of 25, Stewart Street, Crewe. Educated at Edleston Road and Crewe Secondary Schools, and was a fitter’s apprentice prior to enlisting on September 4, 1914. Went to France (Boulogne) on November 7, 1915. Promoted to Lance Corporal on July 13, 1916. His service number is recorded as 21598 on CWGC.
