A specials patriots portrait gallery this week consists of members of the staff of Messrs. Allanson’s the drapers of Grange Road, Birkenhead, who have responded to the call of their King and country. Most of them have been with Messrs. Allanson’s for a considerable time and their faces will no doubt be familiar to our readers. Its is interesting to note that of the twenty-two of Allanson’s fighting men, nineteen have enlisted since the outbreak of the war.

Another Birkenhead Patriot.
Mr. W. J. Robinson, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, 95 Downham Road, has just enlisted in the 1st W. Lancs. Royal Horse Artillery now at Edge Hill. Mr Robinson has for some years been employed by Messrs. Allanson’s in the capacity of a clerk. Being the only son, he is greatly missed at home, but Mrs. Robinson, like many other Birkenhead mothers is bravely doing her duty to her country. (We have, unfortunately, been unable to obtain a photograph of Mr. Robinson).
