Birkenhead Soldier Falls

News has been received of the death of Pte. John Hodgkinson, which took place in France on Dec. 20. He joined the colours at the outbreak of war, and at the time of his death was in the 7th South Lancs. Regt. He was home on leave in July last. His training was undergone in Shrewsbury. Prior to the war he was employed on the docks, and had lived with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Cooper, 34, Oliver Street. A message of sympathy has been received from his Majesty the King, and many who knew him have testified their regret.
