Young Soldier’s Sad End.
News has reached 103, Claughton Road, the residence of Mr. John Pleavin that his youngest son, Private William Pleavin has died in hospital in the vicinity of the Dardanelles, from appendicitis and other complications. Private Pleavin, who was attached to the 1st/4th Battalion Cheshire Regiment, joined in November last, and was drafted to the 1st Battalion, and went out with them a few weeks ago. He was only 18 years of age, and was an employee before the war of the Birkenhead and District Co-operative Society.
