KILLED IN ACTION
The official notification has been received by Mrs. Oxton, of 74 Westbourne Road, to the effect that her husband, Pte. S Oxton, of the Royal Warwicks, was killed in action on April 13. Pte. Oxton joined up on the outbreak of war, and was then attached to the A.S.C. He served in France until August last when he was transferred to Royal Warwicks, and was drafted to the Italian front, but eventually was sent back to France, and had only been there a week when he met his death. Mrs. Oxton has received a letter of sympathy from her late husband’s officer, who writes that he was most popular with both officers and men, and that his loss will be felt throughout the company. Previous to joining up he was employed at Messrs. Lever Bros. Liverpool Office.
