Hew Graham's Story.

Hoylake Officer’s Death from Wounds.

The death is reported of Lieut. Hew Graham Anderson, of the British Columbia forces, youngest son of Mr. And Mrs. George Rae Anderson, Westho, Hoylake. Lieut. Anderson was dangerously wounded on the 13th, and died in a French hospital on the 22nd inst. He was educated at Birkenhead and Shrewsbury Schools, and was head of his house at the latter, and passed direct from the army class into Sandhurst College, but gave up the military for a commercial career, entering the office of Messrs. Balfour, Williamson and Co., and later proceeding for that firm to Seattle and Vancouver.

On the outbreak of war he instantly joined the Canadian forces, with a commission in the 7th B.C. Infantry. Coming over with the first contingent he was seriously wounded near Ypres in April, 1915, and on complete recovery rejoined his battalion. He was a noted athlete, and held the challenge cup of his school for two consecutive years. He leaves a young widow, but no family.
