David Ernest's Story.
David Ernest McCandless was the son of James and Catherine Ann McCandless and the husband of Gwendoline of Woolston. He studied at Crewe Secondary School from 1922 to 1926. He was a Leading Aircraftsman with the RAF based at RAF Woodvale. He died on 10th July 1944 aged 36. He died in Warrington Hospital of haematemesis with his wife by his side. He was buried at Padgate ( Christchurch) graveyard.
