Frank Oswald's Story.

Frank studied at CreweSecondary School from 1928 -30.

At the outbreak of the war he was working at the Westminster Bank in Nantwich and was mobilised with the Cheshire Territorials who went out to France. After Dunkirk, he transferred to the RAF where he eventually  became a Sergeant Pilot with 114 Squadron flying Blenheim IV bombers.

On 5th June 1942 he was taking off on a mission to attack Schipol airport in Holland when the plane suffered a fault and was unable to gain altitude. It crashed into the ground and two of the bombs on board exploded destroying the aircaft and killing all three crew members.
