Frederick Cecil's Story.

Frederick Newall was born in Runcorn, to James and Eleanor Newell in 1887. The 1911 census has him living with the family at 5 Highfield Road, Walton , Liverpool and his trade is that of a Mechanical Draughtsman. He is listed as being single. 
He had 2 brothers, Harold (25) and Reginald (13) and 3 sisters, Elizabeth (30), Nellie (20) and Dorothy (16). 

In the 1901 census the family are living in Kirkdale, and there are 10 children, with Frederick being the 4th youngest. 

He enlisted in the 2nd Liverpool Pals Regiment and was involved in the Third Battle of Ypres, better known as Passchendaele where they attacked Sanctuary Wood on the opening day of the battle on July 31st 1917. it would seem he recieved his wounds at this time and was taken to No 17 Casualty Clearing Station.

He was buried in the large cemetery at Lijssenthoek, Poperinge, West Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot XVII Row E Grave 1A
