George Edward's Story.
George was born in Crewe in 1893. By the age of 7 he was living with his uncle, Robert Aspinall and his mother, Rebecca Baker, at 4 Thomas Street, Crewe. In 1911, George was recorded as living at 43 Thomas Street, and was a laboure/sawyer. After the war he returned to live at 68 South Street, Crewe. This is the same address as given on the Absent voters List. He was shown in 1921 living with his wife, Elsie, her family and their daughter. He was recorded as a general labourer. George married Elsie Heath at Christ Church, Crewe in 1918. They had 3 children. George died in 1927. His wife remarried to Charles Carter in 1930, and then died in 1939.Researched by Edward McLean
