Samuel's Story.

Samuel was the son of Enoch Stubbs and Mary Ann Stubbs nee Amson. Samuel describes himself as a footman when he enlisted. In 1921 he was living with his sister's family and his wife Lizzie at 345 Stoneley Road, Crewe and occupation is given as a Smiths Striker for L.N.W.R. Company.He had married Lizzie Clarke at St. Michael's Church in Crewe in 1917. The couple had a daughter in 1919 and by 1939 were living at 11 Warmingham Road, Crewe He was still described as a Railway Blacksmith's Striker. Samuel died in 1978.
