Raymond Anthony's Story.

Raymond was born in Frome, Somerset, the son of Herbert Edward Banks at one time a manager on the Great Western Railway, and his wife Amy Gertrude. Between 1930 and 1933 Raymond was educated at Maidenhead County Boys School and the family lived at St Keyna, Courthouse Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire. On leaving school Raymond worked as a railway clerk. Later the family moved to West Kirby. He was killed in an accident on board HM MGB 89 on 20th April 1942 aged 21 and was buried in West Kirby (St Bridget) Churchyard.
