Joseph's Story.

Birkenhead News  16 November 1918

Bombardier Joe Griffiths (R.G.A.), of 143, Peel Street, Tranmere, aged 28 years, joined at the outbreak of war, and was wounded twice. He was previously employed by the Mersey Railway Co. His brother, Sergt. George Griffiths died of wounds in August last. Official intimation was received on Friday, Nov. 8th, from Canadian Hospital, France, that he had died of pneumonia following influenza. The loss of their second son has come as a great blow, particularly so when they were looking forward to an early return. The greatest sympathy is extended to M. Griffiths, father, and sister.

Joe Griffiths’ brother George Griffiths died of wounds on 27th July 1918.
