Military Medallist.
Rifleman Albert Wrench.
Rifleman Albert Wrench of the Kings Royal Rifles has been awarded the Military Medal for distinguished service in the field. He enlisted about 16 months ago. He was formerly employed at Market Drayton. He is a Crewe lad, and his brother, who resided at 8 Union Street, Crewe, has just joined the colours.
Another entry in the local press advised that Albert had been seriously wounded, this wound would mean his discharge from the army the following year.

Lance Corporal Albert Wrench.
Lance Corporal Albert Wrench M.M., of the Kings Royal Rifles, has been seriously wounded. He has been shot in the head and has lost his speech. Lance Corporal Wrench who won the Military Medal some time ago, has seen two years fighting at the front. Before the war he lived with his brother at 8, Union Street, Crewe.
Note: In the local press Albert was listed as a Lance Corporal, however his Medal Index Card does not show if he was. It does show he went to France Christmas Eve 1915.
Albert was discharged under Kings Regulations 392 xvi (being permanently physically unfit for service) on the 19 March 1918.
