Samuel's Story.

Samuel was born in 1888, the eldest of 3 sons to William and Maria Jennings, 17 Moston Street, Newfield, Lymm.  He was educated at Lymm school and in civilian life was employed as a fustian cutter.

He enlisted with the Kings Liverpool Regiment at Seaforth, Lancashire in 1915.

He was killed on 9th March 1916, along with 5 of his comrades, by a shell that landed as they resting in a dug-out.  They were killed instantly and suffered no pain and were buried where they fell.

He was later interred at Bard Cottage Cemetery.
