Walter's Story.
Lance Corporal Walter Scott died on 25th February 1942, aged 26. He was killed in a motorcycle accident at Compton Chamberlayne near Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Walter was born in Great Budworth, in the registration district of Runcorn, in the summer of 1915. He was the second son of Walter Scott (1886–1963) and Mary Farquhar (1886–1987) and brother to Peter, Isabella, Joseph, Robert, Alan, Anne, Vera and John. At the time of his death, his parents were living in Great Budworth at 54 High Street. Walter was killed in a head-on collision with an RAF van as he was accompanying a military convoy in Wiltshire.
