ROCK FERRY BOY KILLED.

News has been received that Pte. W. Flynn, of 19, Elson Road, Rock Ferry, has been killed in action in December last. He joined the Welsh Regt. in Dec., 1916, and was sent to Egypt first in May on the Transylvania, which was torpedoed, and then to a rest camp in France. From August last Pte. Flynn had been in Egypt. A letter from his lieutenant states : “He was killed by a sniper, and the bullet entered the left forehead, killing him instantly. He will be missed by all in the platoon, although he had only been with us a few months. In that short time he made many friends, and was liked by all.” He was educated at St. Anne’s School, and was employed prior to the outbreak of war by Lever’s, Port Sunlight.
