EX-BIRKENHEAD CORPORATION EMPLOYEE

Reported Missing.

Mrs. Blackwell, who resides at 110, New Chester Road, New Ferry, has received official notice from the military authorities that her husband, Private Edward Blackwell, of the Cheshire Regiment, is reported missing since the engagement on July 3rd. Private Blackwell was a popular employee of the Birkenhead Corporation in the sanitary department in which employ he had been for twelve years previous to enlisting. He had been out at the front for twelve months, and took part in the great offensive that started on July 1st. He is 39 years of age, and has three children. His home previously was at Pitt Street, Rock Ferry. His two brothers are also serving their King and country – one in the Army, and the other in the Navy. His wife will be grateful for any news from his old chums in the regiment, at the above address.
