Donald Stuart's Story.

Eldest son of chartered accountant, Clement Norman and Edna, (nee, Mather), Wood, of 36, Chester Road, Poynton. Donald’s family had lived in Poynton for the last sixteen years. He attended Macclesfield Grammar School and also played hockey for Poynton.

The 1939 Register shows Donald’s siblings to be, Joan, Paul, Alfred and Florence.

He joined the army in 1939 and was originally in the Gordon Highlanders. He was reported missing in the Mediterranean theatre of conflict.
