Douglas's Story.

Enlisted London. Son of John Frederick and Hannah Shuker of Woodside, Cox Bank, Audlem. Served an apprenticeship with Mr Wood (gents outfitters) of Market Drayton and later worked for Peter Robinson in London, before enlisting in December 1915. A first day casualty of the Battle of the Somme (action at Gommecourt).
