John Wallace's Story.



Raid on the Dunkirk Docks 27-4-1942. Taking off from RAF Dalton at 22.06 the Handley Page Halifax II that John was flying, was hit by flak over the target area and crashed. Some of the crew were able to bail out, the above article did not appear in the Chester Chronicle until 5 December 1942. 



Two the other crew members were killed and are also buried in Dunkirk Town Cemetery,  Sgt. G.W. Butterworh and Sgt. W. Nicoll.
