William's Story.
William Whiston was born in Knutsford in1900, the son of Arthur (a paper maker) and Sarah of Coronation Square, Knutsford. He was a member of the Unitarian Church in Knutsford.
He joined the 3rd Battalion of the Cheshire Regiment, claiming he was a 19 year old warehouseman but did not serve.
He died of illness on the 20th August 1915.
