Harry's Story.

Born in 1898 at Macclesfield, son of James and Alberta Buckley, (nee Neale) Henshaw, of 95 St George’s Street, Macclesfield.

Harry was educated at Lord Street School under Mr. W.W. Weyer; he was an active member of the Brunswick Scouts. After leaving school, he gained employment at A.W. Hewetson, London Road Mill, as an embroiderer.

He enlisted in Macclesfield and was trained at Colchester. An excellent shot, he won a gold medal in a shooting competition. Harry was drafted to France in March 1917, where he was attached to the Lewis Gun section; Harry was killed in action, Tuesday 1st May 1917.
