Joseph's Story.

Brother of George Yardley of 32, Chesterfield Street, Crewe. Prior to being called up in August 1914 (as a Reservist), was employed on the Coal Stand at the Crewe Steam Sheds as a temporary labourer. Went to France on January 4, 1915. Killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
