L & N.W. MAN KILLED

Mr. and Mrs. Walker, of 32 Bebington Road, Tranmere, have received the sad news that their son, Private W. Walker, has been killed in action in France. He joined the Cheshire Regiment soon after the outbreak of war, and had been in France for six months, having previously been transferred to the Manchester Regiment. Mr. and Mrs. Walker have received a letter from the officer commanding their son’s company expressing sympathy from himself and fellow officers, stating that his remains had been found and were buried by an officer and party from his regiment. The grave has been registered.

Prior to the war Private Walker was employed by the London and North Western Railway, and he attended Well Lane Council School. We sympathise deeply with the parents of Private Walker in their son’s loss.
