James Albert's Story.
Born and enlisted Crewe. Stepson of Emma Thomason of 34, Holt Street, Crewe and had previously worked in the Loco Stores, Crewe Works as a labourer. Veteran soldier who served with the 2nd Cheshire’s for over 18 years (15 in India) before he was discharged in April 1913. Enlisted again on January 6, 1915 and embarked from Southampton for France on March 6, 1915. His surname is recorded as THOMASSON on the Crewe War Memorial.
