Donald Gordon's Story.

Birkenhead News  09 October 1915

Twin Son Killed.

WHILST DRIVING ARMOURED MOTOR CAR.

The sad information that their son, Petty Officer Donald Gordon Thomas had been killed in action was received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas, of 15, Grosvenor Place, Claughton. Petty Officer D. G. Thomas, who was only 20 years of age, enlisted soon after the commencement of hostilities. He received an appointment in the Royal Naval Air Service, and after training for some time in this country he left for the Dardanelles about four months ago. He was an armoured motor car driver, and although no definite particulars are to hand, it is understood that he was killed when driving in action.

The deceased’s twin brother, Petty Officer G. O. Thomas, whose portrait appeared in our “gallery” some months ago, is also connected with the R.N.A.S. He only left England about a fortnight ago, and is at present driving an armoured motor car in Belgium.
