Benjamin's Story.
Benjamin was born in 1884 in Manchester third son of Benjamin & Annie Elliott, who later moved to Canterbury Cottage, New Road, Lymm.He was educated at Lymm Parochial School and worshipped at St. Mary's Parish Church. In civilian life he was, for a time, employed as a waiter in the Isle of Man.
At the outbreak of war he immediately returned home to join up and after finishing his training he was posted to France and had been at the front for over 24 months. Benjamin had 3 brothers also serving with the Colours.
He was killed by a shell on 4th July 1917 aged 33.
