Harold Stanley's Story.

 Harold  was born in Chester in 1898. He lived with his father Albert, an engineer's clerk, and his mother Hannah at 9 Pickering Street, Hoole, Chester. He had a brother Douglas. He was drawing office printer at The Hydraulic Engineering Company Ltd, Chester.
  Harold enlisted in Chester, originally into the 68th Welsh Divisional Cyclists. On the 8th September 1917 he was awarded 12 days detention for being drunk & incabable whilst in Lowestoft. He entered France on the 27th September 1917 and was transferred tot eh 2nd Battalion Welsh Regiment on the 29th. He was transferred to the 13th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers on the 23rd October 1917. He was killed in action  on the 31st August 1918. He is buried at Morval British Cemetery, Pas De Calais, France.
