Samuel's Story.
Born Nantwich, enlisted Crewe. Son of Mr Ralphs of 23, Millstone Lane, Nantwich. Formerly employed at the Crewe Steam Sheds as a cleaner. Went to France (Boulogne) on September 28, 1915. Killed whilst trying to cut the enemy wire (Bazentin Ridge), during the Battle of the Somme.
