Died of Wounds

The friends of Private John Ford Pink will be grieved to learn of his death from wounds on January 23rd. he received the fatal wounds the previous day, as well as being severely gassed. Pte. Pink was called up in February 1916, and was attached to the Lewis Gun Division of the Cheshire Regt. He went to the front in October, 1916, and had seen much severe fighting.

He was a married man, and his home was at 17, Roe Street, Birkenhead. For a number of years he was a member of St. James’ Church Choir, and was held in very much esteem by all those who knew him. Pte. Pink’s widow, as well as his parents, who live at 40, Powell Street, will have sincere sympathy in their trial.
