Walter's Story.
Born Nantwich, enlisted Macclesfield. Son of Priscilla Pearson of 48, Welsh Row, Nantwich. One of nine brothers and was actively associated with the Wood Street Church Mission. A former shop assistant, working for Mr Howard, Draper of High Street, Nantwich. Enlisted September 1914. Landed at “C” Beach, Suvla Bay on August 8/9, 1915. Shot through the chest by a sniper, whilst out on patrol. Had been promoted to Lance Corporal just two days before.
