Charles's Story.
Charles Richardson was born in 1882 in Knutsford, and in 1911 was living with his mother Caroline, sister and his step-father William (a baker) at 43, Tatton Street, Knutsford. He was a plumber.
He married Alice Richardson Lansloot of 45, Dyk Straat, Malines, Belgium.
Charles enlisted in the army, becoming Private no. 12273 of the 1st Battalion of the Cheshire Regiment.
He arrived in France on the 6th March 1915.
Charles was killed in action on the 16th January 1916.
