John Hadfield's Story.
John was born in Macclesfield in 1892. He lived with his grandfather Ralph, an overlooker, & his grandmother Elizabeth at 96 Brook Street, macclesfield. By 1911 he was living with his father Thomas, a pork butcher, & his mother Clara at 3 Queen Victoria Street. He had a brother Sydney & a sister Elsie.John enlisted in Crewe. He died of wounds received in action on the 24th August 1918. He is buried at Bouzincourt Ridge Cemetery, Albert, Dept De La Somme, France. II D7.
