Albert George's Story.
Born Wrenbury, enlisted Newcastleupon-Tyne.
Son of Joshua and Elizabeth Hayes of Crewe
and was a former pupil of the Hightown LNWR Boys School.
Lived with his brother Thomas at 48, Lincoln Street, Crewe
and previously worked as a striker in Crewe Works. First
enlisted in July, 1899 and served during the Boer War. Went
to France on October 22, 1914. Died in No.18 Field
Ambulance, Erquinghem, due to a fatal wound to the
intestines.
