Harry's Story.
Harry was born in on 26th April 1890 to William and Fanny Hallding in Aberyswyth Wales. In 1891 they are living at 138 Greenway Road (on the corner of Byron Street) and he had a number of brothers and sisters. William is listed as a commerical clerk at a soap works.

In 1901 the family have moved to 177 Norman Road, the house which has now gone to make way for the main railway line.
In 1911 Harry is recorded in the census of Canada and is thought he emigrated in 1909 with his brother Ernest. In his service papers he is listed as farmer.
He was 5ft 7inches with fair hair and blue eyes. He joined the Canadian Infantry in Edmonton, Alberta on December 6th 1915 and was sent to France in early 1917.
He received his injuries from severe shrapnel wounds in the back and internal injuries at the front on the 3rd June. He was evacuated to the UK and died in Woking Military Hospital, Surrey.
He was an "old boy" of the Runcorn Secondary School and attended the Brunswick Chapel Sunday School.
Harry's body was brought back to Runcorn and laid to rest in Runcorn Cemetery.
He is commemorated on a marble plaque in Brunswick Chapel.
