Geoffrey Marcus Erskine's Story.
Geoffrey Marcus Erskine Girard was born in Knutsford in 1900, the son of H. E and Isobel Mary Girard (a lady of private means) who went to live in Chaucer Road, Bedford. His father later made a request for his sons medals whilst living at 48, Burlington Road, Bayswater, London.
Geoffrey joined the 28th London Regiment, becoming Private no. 3607. He was commissioned into the 7th Battalion of the Prince of Wales Leinster Regiment (Royal Canadians), on the 19th April 1917, becoming a Temporary Second Lieutenant.
He arrived in France 9th May 1915.
Geoffrey was killed in action on the 16th November 1917.
