PORT SUNLIGHT EMPLOYEE FALLS.
Mr. and Mrs. Ennion of 10, Brunswick Street, Rock Ferry, have received the official news that their second son, Private Richard Ennion of the Cheshire Regiment, died of wounds at a Casualty Clearing Station, on May 26th. Pte. Ennion, whose regiment was at a “rest camp” just behind the lines, was with two comrades when a shell exploded. One man was killed outright, the other received a wound and Ennion was hit in the head. Employed at Port Sunlight, in No. 2 Stamping Room, the deceased enlisted at the outbreak of war in the “Wirral Pals,” and had been over two years in the thick of the fighting in France. Deceased was home on leave in January. Two of his brothers-in-law are serving in the same regiment.
