Frederick's Story.
Frederick Darlington was born in Knutsford in 1898, the son of Robert (a bricklayer) and May Darlington of 110, King Street, Knutsford.
Frederick joined the Royal Flying Corp as Pilot no. 3295.
He was died of wounds on the 23rd February 1918.
On that fateful day:
Frederick's casualty record shows that a report was received from Somers Town Police Station, London, stating that he was injured when a bomb was dropped from a˜hostile aircraft" (possibly a Gotha bomber) at Euston Road/St Pancras Railway Station.
