In our issue of October 2 we published a paragraph concerning Private W. H. Cowell, “C” Company, 4th Cheshire Regiment, who was reported as missing since the early August engagement. News has now been received by his sister, Mrs. Crebbin, of 12, Eaton Road, Birkenhead, that he fell in action on August 27th. Private Cowell was formerly an employed as page at the Constitutional Club, 1, Beresford Road, for three years, and news of his death will be received with sorrow by all who knew him.
