Old Soldier Killed.

One of the First Expeditionary Force.

Mrs. Cookson of 238, Beckwith Street, has received word that her son Private E. J. Cookson, died on Sunday from wounds received in action on November 4th.
Private Cookson served in the South African War with the K.L.R., was wounded and was awarded the service medal with five bars. He went with his regiment to India, but returned home eight years ago and joined the reserve. He was called up in August, 1914, and went to the front the same month with the First Expeditionary Force. He had been wounded twice before receiving his fatal wound. He leaves a widow and two children.
