He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chadwick, 40 Rappart Road, Seacombe. Another son is serving in the Navy. The interment took place on Monday, at Rake Lane Cemetery, prior to which a service was conducted at St. John’s Church by the Rev. A.B. Sleight (curate-incharge of St. Columba’s), who also officiated at the graveside.
The principal mourners were Mr. and Mrs. J. Chadwick (father and mother), the Misses Elisie, Florrie, and Lillie Chadwick (sisters). Miss Kathie Hughes (the deceased’s fiancée), Mr. and Mrs. J. Parry (uncle and aunt), Liverpool, Mrs. E. McCombe, Mrs. Summer, Mrs. Hughes, his chums, Sappers Jenkins, and Kennard (R.E), Pte. Edwards (King’s Liverpool Rifles), and Pte. J. Hughes (late R.W.F.)
