Born in 1897, at Macclesfield, son of joiner, Arthur and Ellen, (nee, Biggs), Bradbury, of 245, Hurdsfield Road, Macclesfield. Stanley had an elder sister Lillian and a younger brother Arthur. In 1911, Stanley was working as an errand boy for a local chemist and was then living at 191, Hurdsfield Road. Stanley was associated with Hurdsfield Sunday School where he was a teacher, and the librarian. Prior to his enlistment, he was employed as a joiner, at Messrs Claytons, Sunderland Street, Macclesfield.

Stanley enlisted in April 1916, into the Royal Flying Corps, as a third air mechanic. His willingness and aptitude soon saw him promoted. He then moved to the newly formed Royal Air Force. Stanley died of influenza in the casualty clearing station in France, Sunday, 17/11/1918, he was aged 21 years.
