Alfred's Story.

Born and enlisted Nantwich. Resided at 17, Pratchetts Row, Nantwich. Received shrapnel wounds to the left leg during action at Hill 60 and succumbed to his injuries in Bury Hospital. First enlisted on January 15, 1907 and served nearly eight years in India. Formerly a carter. Went to France (Le Havre) on January 16, 1915.
